Fun story: Theodore Roosevelt was originally nominated as VP because New York business men were tired of him loving with their businesses while he was governor. The VP is a do nothing job. Unfortunately when McKinley was shot their plans went out the window.

Some say Palin was nominated for VP for the same reasons.
