My suggestion to you, Mogarf, would be to look at the PS3/360 and decide based on what you want in a system. I owned a 360 but sold it a little later because we got a new HDTV and I wanted the Blue-ray capabilities and the arguably better HD graphics. But I had to sacrafice the broad game seletion. Although, I considered this a good choice because eventually the online costs would have drove the 360's long-term cost considerably high. BUT. If you were to decide between the 360 and Wii I would go forthe 360

I also own a Wii and I have to say it was fun at first, But got intensly boring later on. It also seems to be designed with the whole family in mind even though most people have trouble getting their family to play any sort of game. So between the two, Xbox takes the cake. But I do think looking into the PS3 too is a must as you are overlooking a range of features and strengths.

I don't recommend the 360. Most shooters on this system are dumb'd down for the console, and most, if not all, are out for the PC. The PC has more power, and can do many things the 360 can't.

Get a Wii if you like classics (you can buy most of them for around 10 dollars, based on how popular it is.

I rebuke your decision, as Not all can afford to pay $500-$600 to make there PC up to date. I vote Ehbah 3 yiddy(xbox 360), as its cheaper and wont need an upgrade for 2 more years or so.

$600+ (more like $800 with a small collection of games and additional controller)

Saying consoles are cheaper is an outright lie.

If you are willing to take the time, you could build your own powerful gaming PC for less than the cost of a console and all of it's accessories and games. Despite what others say, it will not be obsolete in 2 years. There are people today still using 4-6 year old computers comfortably.
