Razor's Edge takes place in New York City some time in the later 21st century. The government has gone back to its tribal ways and has relocated every black person in New York City to Harlem. Barriers have been put up to prevent any people from exiting, although anyone can enter.

The Runners are a freedom fighter group. They deliver secret messages from Harlem to other fighters on the outside, and more importantly, they deliver secret fried chicken to the residents of Harlem after it was banned. They don't want to see any more little black boys and girls go hungry.

You play as Jamal, leader of the freedom fight group stationed on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard inside the abandoned Apollo theater. You're one of the best Runners in Harlem and are often in charge of obtaining and delivering fried chicken. This is by far the most difficult job a Runner can do. You must find ways to exit and reenter the Harlem detention facility, avoid being caught on the outside, and carry fried chicken which can easily be picked up by the thousands of chemical sniffers on the streets. There ain't no smell like the Colonel's eleven secret spices.

Being the premiere Runner is a very stressful thing, and you've succumbed to the pressure. You have a severe cocaine addiction. You want to keep fighting so no one ever falls to the white man's evil drugs again; you want to fight for your people's freedom.

The game play is very similar to (the suspiciously similarly named) Mirror's Edge. You will roam the city performing master level Parkour moves and battling the officers of the corrupt government. Your main objective is to obtain and deliver fried chicken most of the time, but this often involves sub-objectives that help flesh out the plot of the MLK Runners fight.

This game is not as limited as Mirror's Edge though. Given your natural talents as a young black male, you are able to scale buildings three stories tall in a sing bound and outrun police cruisers with ease. If you as the player have the dexterity and quick mind to control such raw power that is. The areas are incredibly open and infinitely explorable; there are dozens of ways to achieve your goals.

The title comes from Jamal's severe cocaine addiction. He has to battle it throughout the whole game. You can use the cocaine to perform better and activate Snort Time in which time slows down for everyone except you. You can also choose to forgo any cocaine use, but your abilities will suffer. The path the story takes greatly changes based on how well you manage Jamal's addiction.

Can you help Jamal stop the corrupt white man's regime, overcome his drug addiction, and win the fight for freedom?
