Author Topic: ENOUGH! The internet problems stop NOW!  (Read 2581 times)

Ive pretty much had it not being able to host games on ANY SINGLE ONE OF MY GAMES! DI-524 is my router model, if anybody can help me, I would appreciate it, because I cant host on Toribash Blockland Garrysmod mod and soon to be Team Fortess 2

problems are: No idea, I think I have to port forward but I dont know how to. Dont give me that port forward help page, because I can access my admin page but I cant find the port forward page, If this should be in help, Then could somebody move this? Because its not only blockland related, more along the lines of router/gaming help. Pictures would be nice but if not I would like you to be able to help me if I get stuck on any tutorials

figured someone would post that. I tried it already, and I dont see all my games on that list. Some kid came over one day and ported forward without the porting every single one from X-Y. he just typed in port x to Port Y, and it did all the ports. Unless this site shows you how to do that....uh...well could you show me exactly how to do what I just said?

edit: i looked at the general ports section or whatever its called to open ports for your own program, but there is a way to open ports from port A to port B, right? The kid didnt have to do every single one... also, I dont know how to tell what ports are TCP or the other one :|

How about a picture or two, and what do you mean you tried portforward.com but it doesn't have your favorite games? You do know that you just need to find out the ports to differentiate between the games, right? Thats the only difference in the different guides of the games.

So you didn't even try portforward.com because its list of games wasn't complete, if I am getting the gist of it correctly.

All you need to know is what ports you need to open and whether or not its TCP or UDP.

Thats exactly the problem though, except more to it, First of all, I Dont know how to port multiple ports with a single uh....thing... and yes, I did try portforward.com, becuase I said in my other post that I tried it with the general ports section. It said, lets say If I had to port ports 1 to 30, that I had to Name them all and open them all seperately. I will say for a third time that It IS possible for them to all be opened at once. and what kind of picture am I supposed to post? A picture of me alone in a gmod server because nobody will join?... Ill post a picture of my router homepage

WAIT! as getting a picture to this post I found out that intenret gaming can also be acsessed with the applications tool (my god im a durface), But I STILL need a bit of help so I will still post a screenie.

I still need help understanding what TCP or UPD is, the trigger port Im not exactly sure, and the public port i dont know what it is.

You have the same router as me... I find it hard to forward properly. Some days, it works fine, while others, my server is dead.

Change the TCP/UDP to both, probably.

I hate my router. You cannot set a forwardung address thus making the port forwarding useless. :(

TCP and UDP are two connection types. Most games either use one of them or both of them.

if I enable the both option will it still work?

but im not sure if that works.

now im mostly focuses on the handicapped popup because i cant get enough time in to finish a round most of the time.

I've got a dlink router too, and I also had problems trying to port forward. Eventually it worked when I made a new rule for both TCP and UDP (Two different rules) that ran off the same port.
