I used to have crazy long hair, and guess what? I cut it and now people respect me based on my outward appearance.
Honestly- I don't know why people are so strong about being 'rebels' and 'non-conforming' and then pitch a fit when they lose their job at Burger King.
Because that's not the way mommy and daddy and schools raised them. They're brought up thinking that no matter how much they suck at something, they'll be rewarded for it. That everyone's the same, and that no matter how you look, you'll be accepted. Then as soon as they get a job. BLAM reality hits them completely off their pedestal and they wonder why they've been lied to their whole lives.
