Ok let's say there's a human planet somewhere called something.

suddenly a Tau army lands and claim it's their planet now.
The Empire is like wtf and sends in some Imperial Guards.
they fight for 6 years.

after 6 years the Imperial Guard tell The Empire "wtf they r 2 hard 2 kill"

The Empire sends down 200 Space Marines. At the time there were 200,000 Imperial Guards fighting on the planet.
The Space Marines clear the place in 2 hours.

First of all, the Imperial Guard are the defenders of the Imperium. While the Space Marines are more combat effective, it's the Imperial Guard who are the first to fight any invader. They don't have the advantages of super human soldiers or insanely awesome armor. Their lasguns are not the best weapon out there. But, they fight to defend, whereas the Space Marines are sent in to attack strategic positions of the enemy because of their small numbers.

there's a loving HUGE difference between story and game... I'm talking about story, in which the Space Marines aren't dumbed down to give the other cheesecakes a chance.
