That's because you're putting a link to the web page as the image URL

An image URL usually ends with a file type like .jpg, .png, .gif, etc, and image URLs from Imgur usually look something like this: http://i.imgur.com/1zcQxFG.jpg

When you upload an image to Imgur and you're brought to the page that displays the image, right click the image and there should be an option to copy the image address
