Author Topic: My ping is to high.  (Read 1589 times)

Recently, i've been being autokicked from CS:S servers for high ping.  I set all of my video options to low.  On the last server I played on(with no autokicker), I discovered my ping was in the 500's

Hao2lowping?

Are you using Satellite internet? that might cause huge latency like that.

Possibly a hardware issue too. Has it always been like that? What have you changed recently? ISPs? routers?

I've had this happen to me. Its my internet, it sucks hugely.

How did you solve it?

I haven't changed any hardware, my internet connection uses sattelite.

I'm getting better internet soon.

5mbs to 10 :D

Still happening to me, though.

Usually happens when someone else is hogging up the net or downloading something huge.

Found this out when brother was downloading the witcher, that stupid friend hogging up my internets >:(

Unless my sis or bro were lying to me, then that;s not my case.

Also, doesn't the witcher has tons of nudity? How old's your bro?

Just to let you know, changing graphical settings will NOT decrease your ping. Unless you have processor problems.

I have broadband that is supposed to be 256kb down 128kb up, but it is 40kb down 15kb up.
forget it, I will call the ISP sometime soon.

He's 18.

There's your problem.

I get 300+ ping on CS(1) and ZM, and I don't have a satellite or dial-up.
