My ping is to high.

Recently, i've been being autokicked from CS:S servers for high ping.  I set all of my video options to low.  On the last server I played on(with no autokicker), I discovered my ping was in the 500'^s

Are you using Satellite internet? that might cause huge latency like that.

Possibly a hardware issue too. Has it always been like that? What have you changed recently? ISPs? routers?

I haven't changed any hardware, my internet connection uses sattelite.

Just to let you know, changing graphical settings will NOT decrease your ping. Unless you have processor problems.

I have broadband that is supposed to be 256kb down 128kb up, but it is 40kb down 15kb up.

I get 300+ ping on CS(1) and ZM, and I don't have a satellite or dial-up.
