Author Topic: "IRC for pass" doesn't mean I'm going to let random people in my server.  (Read 1430 times)

I love my own passworded servers. I can let certain people in and everyone else out. Yay! But how will my friends know the password if they're not on MSN or steam? I know! RTB IRC! I should put my server name as 'General Nick's Private Server (IRC for pass)', that way my friends will know to IRC me if they want the password to the server.

The above is a monologue to myself of the idea of passwording a server and letting only people I know have the password through IRC.
Now I've had about 8 different people that claim to be my friend and know me well asking me like crazy for the stupid password.
Only two people I knew actually asked me for it, though.

So why all of a sudden when I host a private server everyone is interested in my server?

Because people love to snoop. :D

You're important. And important people have fun servers.

They must think you're testing something or building something top secret. :P

People think passworded servers are important.

I purposely don't put that in my server title and I still get IRCs for the pass.
I'm near giving up and just testing my scripts without any of my friends D:

I BETER WRITE THIS D0WN S0 1 CAN BE C00L T00

anyways, back on topic, maybe you should name your servers with a name thats not so... ambiguous?

Only two people I knew actually asked me for it, though.
