Author Topic: Change Serial Support  (Read 835 times)

In case your serial some how does get snatched on by someone we should have an access to be able to change our serial number and have it sent to our email we originally bought it with.

If you're talking about your activation key, you can't change it. The code is directly linked to your id and changing it would break the system. It adds a whole new amount of complexity that badspot probably wouldn't want to deal with.

Just make sure you don't let others read your email, don't store the key in a text file (my friend got his stolen that way), just use your email as storage. You could even delete the email since you can get your key resent. If a keygen was somehow created that caused many users' ids to be stolen, I'm sure badspot would come up with a solution for the situation.

Funny, I was just about to suggest this. Thanks for the explanation nit.

Also, I had no idea you still played blockland. Nice to see you still do.

No.  This would just encourage people idiots to give out their keys to their friends since they'll always be able to get it back.

Is it really that difficult to not give your key to people?  Just don't do it.

I don't understand why you would have to deactivate the id though. isn't it a bit harsh?!

The sort of person who would steal your ID may be likely to also distribute it to other people. If everyone ends up sharing the same ID, nobody is buying the game. The key is deactivated to prevent it getting abused.

exactly why we're better off with this idea.

Then I could loan my key out to any number of my friends for, say, a day or time schedule (as Badspot said), and then take it back by changing it. You get the same situation of many people using the game without buying it.

You've bought it it's like loaning a game to your friends.

If you like want to have your friend try it, go over to their house, put the key in, and then when your done just remove the key.
