Author Topic: Help making dedicated server (I'm off limits to help and gen. dicussion)  (Read 1914 times)

Ok as the title says I'm off limits to help and gen. dicussion So that's why I posted here...

I need help. I set up my router to let in Blockland ports and I tested it and a person joined so I know it worked and I need to know how to set up a dedicated server. When I go to the Blockland folder in Program files I click on the dedicated batch file and it just makes the cmd box open, but not the game. Is tht supposed to happen? Please help.  :cookieMonster:

Thanks,

Yes. Then go onto your dedicated server by opening up blockland normally and joining it, then change all the server prefs using RTB server control to make it how you want. If you close that dialog box it will close the dedi server, so you need to keep it open.

So basicaly start a server then run the dedicated.bat?

Oh look, the fool who tried to flame Blockland and failed.

you failed flaming me...

Gah. I got it. Thanks Destiny

Now my question...why are you "off-limits" to those two forum areas?

Start dedicated.bat in your Blockland folder, then open Blockland as usual, and join your own server.  The name will be the same as the last server you hosted.  Once joined, you can used RTB Prefs Manager or something to change settings.

NOTE: The first time you host a dedicated server with RTB, it will bring up some text and ask you to enter a command to set up the server.  You might want to wait for that to come up before you start Blockland to join)

If you can't find your server, you can also press the Query LAN button at the bottom (it should show just your dedicated server) I think.

Hope that wasn't too confusing.

In some cases you may need to do Connect to IP to get to your own server from the same computer or another computer in your household.
I usually have to for some reason. It appears dead on the list but when I connect by IP it works.
