Can someone make the white parts of my avatar transparent so it's just the circle? I'm completely handicapped when it comes to stuff like this. I got as far as making the white parts transparent but every time I try to upload it as my avatar it doesn't work and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. help?

How did you do that so i can do it in the future. I use photoshop and what I did was circle it, copy, make a new file, and paste in there with a transparent background. That's obviously wrong because when it shows up on my desktop the white parts are still solid.

Then you don't have it saved over a transparent background. If its transparent it has a checkered pattern in the background.

I do have it over a transparent background, then i save it as .png and it doesn't work.

Mine's transparent, and it's a GIF.
