Author Topic: Two routers= Port Forwarding Problems  (Read 819 times)

My dad bought a new router today, and we are currently using two routers that are both connected. The new one was mainly for a better wireless signal.

Here are the specs.

Old Router:

Bell 2701HG-G Gateway (2WIRE)

New router:

Linksys Cisco Wireless Router

-----------------------------------

Does anyone think that having a second router, connected two the old one, would affect my ports?

Please help.

My servers all appear dead now. Does anyone think that having a second router, connected two the old one, would affect my ports?

Why do you have two routers if the new one is better?

And bumping after 3 minutes of no replies is pretty lame.

-Sorry double post, have NO loving CLUE why it did that.-

I was just told from my dad that:

The old router is actually a DLS Motem, and a router.

The new one is just a router, so we need both.

I figured out why I did that, because of the lack of Edit button, I went to edit my main post and acidentally hit "Quote" without thinking. I'm sorry, I need to pay more attention. :3

Oh, Then I guess your best bet is to just continue connecting to the old wireless and port forward on the old router, I don't even know if you can port forward from one router to another to your laptop.

I did, and I hope this works for him.

Well, I've already done that, and it did not appear to connect. Also, I'm on a desktop. I have no idea what to do.

Try ports under 10 000. It works for some people, including me.
Don't forget to change the port in "ADvanced Config" of Blockland.
