Author Topic: Anyone mind helping? Gmod Question.  (Read 2110 times)

Hey, I asked about 8 times now, on a whole bunch of forums, but no one seems to have an answer.
So, here's my really annoying problem:

1. I wan't to play Gmod.
2. I bought a Valve Source game or whatever, and played it once (Actually a bunch of times)
3. FULLY installed Gmod and TF2 - Which is the Source game
4. Open'd up Garry's Mod... Launching...
5. Open's up alright, BUT
6. Right on the loading screen - It load's for a while and then Bam.
7. This stupid message comes up:

Hl2 stopped working.
Windows is looking for a solution for the problem

Loading...

So it finishes loading, and it says: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

Tried it again = Same thing.

Anyone help?

(I don't even crappin' HAVE Hl2)

HL2 isn't required, and I really hope one of those forums includes Facepunch in the Garrysmod help section.

I have no idea what could be causing this to happen, though.

HL2 Is just what it calls it, It says that for everything when it crashes for me. Um does your computer suck?

Um does your computer suck?

That's a horribly blunt question to ask. Also, try to run other Source games, like TF2.

Other than one of the best gaming computers in the world? I have NO idea.
No. It does NOT suck.

That's what i did, worked PERFECTLY
But, Gmod, still doesn't...

Other than one of the best gaming computers in the world?

I guarantee that it isn't. Not even one of them.

Either the following:

A) Something is up with your installation of Gmod. Reinstall it.
B) Something with your computer is loving up Gmod, most possibly hardware related. Post your specs.
C) God hates you :(

Gateway One? Ever heard of that?

3 gigs RAM, 256 megs video, 2 GHz dual core processor, not that good.

But you should be able to run Garry's mod on it.

Go to start. Then run. Type dxdiag in the box and click ok.

Something called the DirectX Diagnostic Tool should appear.

Click the button that says Save all information button at the bottom.

Attach this text file to your post. You can do this by clicking the additional options link at the bottom of a new post.

Your crash is most likely related to the combination of drivers and hardware. We can get a better idea of what your system is like using this file. The solution to your problem is probably as simple as typing the name of your graphics card into the facepunch forums search bar and looking for someone else who had the same problem, but you didn't tell us any of this information, and this is the easiest way to get all of it.

Gateway One? A computer that is actually built would be better. Also there are much more powerful processors out.

Also, you should probably post this in Facepunch, Gmod's official forum.
