Just say you have to modify blockland's ports and then add the ports and say they're major needed ports for blockland if he asks about it.
My Dad was the same way, but I still reassured him that it's all okay, I'll be careful etc, and he was sort of okay with it.
Now I just skip it and do it anyway. He now knows that I know more about computers than him, so he trusts me.
