Remove the pain thing (I am not very good at most video games), and I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Have some sort of implant or remote thing that would redirect signals to/from the brain to be processed by a computer. Everything can be done there - vision, touch, pain, movement - as long as the computer can do it all. It'd still keep the required signals 'running' for your heartbeat and staying alive, obviously.

Think of it this way.  100 years ago, do you think people would have believed that we'd have all the stuff there is today.  Theres always people thinking or working on stuff like this.  If we wanted things to get done, we seriously should pool things together.  Bounce ideas off each other, try stuff.  Eventually well get to this somehow.  Sooner than we think Im sure.  I remember at a Wired NextFest they had this guy navigating Google Earth with his mind.

I just thought of something. If my little brain-implant idea would work, there could be spontaneous wars erupting in shopping malls, only with no weapons. That would make life very fun and interesting.

Anyone else think the pain is a stupid idea?

Like say you play Call of Duty and get shot, I thought that's why I played the game: to get shot without feeling the shot. I mean ouchies.

You can just have a menu, checking what you want and dont want, like maybe wind, when you touch things, pain if you really want it, etc.
