Oh forget. there's a nasty virus out for windows out that doesn't allow you to access any anti-virus websites. GO to another computer, download avg, and put it on a flash drive.

Scratch what I said about Kaspersky. AVG doesn't need you to restart for updates.

But AVG wouldnt let me remove it or anything. And it kept coming up with popups saying to download AVG2009 or something, So when i did it forgeted up my PC big time.

McAfee sucks. I have it, and when I go to get Counter-strike 2D, it's like "Omg omg dun dunlod dis it has vyruses!" Trust me, before I had it, Counter Strike 2D didn't give me viruses when I downloaded it.

Well just to check i downloaded it and my mcafee hasnt said a word about it i've even made it scan it :D

I hate McAffee. I had been using it since the early 90s, since I could get a cheap subscription through AOL. A few years ago I learned about AVG, and figured I'd start using it as soon as my registration for McAffee expired. I did and I've never had a problem with it.

Issues I've had with McAffee over the years:

McAffee provided a free firewall hidden in their program I didn't know about and blocked IRC communication.
They decided to duplicate windows system restore, now I've got a drive partition I didn't want.
Bloated with features I never used and had to disable in some cases.

AVG, Spybot Search and Destroy, a good router to use as a firewall, a secure browser and common sense has kept me virus free for several years now.
