The first two pets I had were these two small tetras that my moms friend gave me for my birthday.  I forget what type they were but they were silver, and had red under their eyes.  Anyway I named them Tomato, and Rock :D
They were probably the best present, or a gift that's stuck in my head :)  I think fish make good presents
