Minimum of a 350 Watt power supply for the video card.

You have a 300 Watt power supply.

Furthermore, you have only PCI Express x16, not 2.0.

Try this.

Your power supply can handle it and its PCI-E x16.

Seriously, you have no loving idea what you're talking about so stop posting in threads like this.

PCIe 2.0 is completely backwards compatible with PCIe x16 and there will be absolutely no bandwidth issues with a low-end card like that.

Either way, he still can't use the one he's asking for.

Yes he can

Ignore gen nick. That should work fine. You might want a bit more powerful psu though.

Yes he can
You need a 350 watt power supply for the one he's asking and he only has 300.

But yes, I'm usually half wrong in the morning.

Is that bad? D:

I have an 8500, it's pretty good actually, run GMod on all high, runs Mirror's Edge Graphics medium, Textures high, no PhysX.

x500 cards form the low end of the spectrum of graphics cards.

They are weaker than other cards (like those with x600) but are cheaper, run cooler, and require less power.

It won't beat some of the latest and greatest games, but it will perform great with anything on the source engine and of course any older games. Also, newer games like COD4 and such aren't that hard to run either.
