Author Topic: Ladios's 18 point build rating system  (Read 1274 times)

As how good a build is is very subjective, I have decided to make a scale for which I can judge people on each factor. Though this is still subjective, at least it will probably have some chance in making my ratings at least relative to each other.

Creativity 0-3
Duplication/Macro 0-2
Complexity 0-3
Colour 0-3
Detail 0-2
Space Efficiency 0-1
Effort 0-2
Brick Efficiency 0-2

If you have any particular way you rate, please go ahead and post it here.

I feel like threads on Blockland are repeats, seeing as you did something similar to this ages ago with 1/10.

But last time I just said I was rating on a 0-10 scale with the increments being as such a school grade would be, 0-5 F, 6 D, 7 C, etc.
This time its actually taking into account each part of the build, and it ends in a completely random number which makes it more awesome.

detail up 1 color down 1, that  seems better

but still awesome

I still prefer the 0-to-π system.

Actually detail is rather relative, so I gave it a lower possible score.
0 for none, 1 for slight (say a few rocks here and there), 2 for more detailed (more things have a level of detail to them than not)

Color actually has several things that I count. As everything has a color, this was hard to originally think of.
0 for bad color (say a bunch of random rainbow stuff colors or just solid black or whatever), 1 for bland (say just brown and gray, but still works for the build), 2 more colored/effort put into coloring (say different color planks for a floor supposed to be made out of wood), 3 for very well colored (basically like 2 except when the colors go very naturally together, usually this would require a custom colorset or whatever)

I still prefer the 0-to-π system.
Yes, but this just sets the limit on what I plan on giving them and justifies the scores. Your 0-to-n is usually a 0-to-10.

I use
1-pull-eyes-out-stuffty
2-Below Average
3-Average
4-Above average
5-God built this.

The way I usually rate builds is...

Details, 0/5
Shape, 0/5
Color, 0/5
Creativity, 0/5

Total: 20

0-5, F
6-8, D
9-10, C
11-14, B
15+ A

I'm sure you could ad another point to effort and detail to make it a 20 point system.

But it being an obscure number makes it all the more fun. ^_^

I rate this way.

0/3 Brick creativity
0/3 Brick efficiently
0/3 Detail
0/1 Useful

For duplication and macros, are you rating how well they used them?
You shouldnt give someone a low score for using tools provided for them to their advantage.
Just thought I'd point that out.

If you want, maybe you should go deeper into detail on why someone would receive X amount of points for each category.
