Let me say somethings real quick though:

And I meant cohesive with current events. Christianity is less present in today's society.

What about the info I provided? Zero out of a large consensus disagreed. Scientists are being pressured to state otherwise to the public. The movie An Inconvenient Truth states this and provides more evidence. Yes scientists were afraid to loose their jobs, but that was when the idea of global warming was first emergent and the government saw it as a hoax.

Martin Luther was FOR Christianity.  The Roman Catholic Church was trying to sell forgiveness to make money!  They said Christ's death wasn't enough, you had to pay to be able to get into heaven!  They said that God can only be reached with a priest, when Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."  They said that the virgin Mary was a deity!  They said that righteousness does not come by faith alone!
