Author Topic: It's Finally Here: 3D Gaming!!!!  (Read 2888 times)

I'm sure alot of people have been waiting forever to play their favorite games in full 3D! Well, now with NVidia's new device and a decent gaming rig you can! Now I'm not going to say that it isn't expensive, but it is totally worth it. You need to have these things for it to work:
Monitor ($300+)
  • Samsung® SyncMaster 2233RZ 120 Hz LCD display
  • ViewSonic® FuHzion™ VX2265wm 120 Hz LCD display
  • 100 Hz and higher brown townog CRTs

Nvidia Graphics Card (Approx. $100)
GeForce GTX 200 Series
      GeForce GTX 295
      GeForce GTX 285
      GeForce GTX 280
      GeForce GTX 260
GeForce 9 Series
      GeForce 9800 GX2
      GeForce 9800 GTX+
      GeForce 9800 GTX
      GeForce 9800 GT
      GeForce 9600 GT
GeForce 8 Series
      GeForce 8800 Ultra
      GeForce 8800 GTX
      GeForce 8800 GTS
      GeForce 8800 GT

GeForce 3D Vision Kit ($199)

Now, this is the set-up with your computer that will work with pretty much ANY game, but there are certain games that are recommended for use that the NVidia team had to edit certain parts to make it work correctly. You can find the list of recommended games here. This list includes game that you can play on your TV. Yes, that's right! You can also hook the glasses and the emitter up to your television if you have one of these televisions you can play games and watch movies in 3D on your television!

DLP HDTVs
      Mitsubishi® 1080p DLP® Home Theater TV: WD-57833, WD-60735, WD-60C8, WD-65735, WD-65736,   WD-65C8, WD-65833, WD-65835, WD-73735, WD-73736, WD-73833, WD-73835, WD-73C8, L65-A90

If you didn't catch what I said before listen closely: not only will you be able to play games in 3D, but you can watch and even look at pictures in full 3D! If you want to learn more, go to www.nvidia.com/object/GeForce_3D_Vision_Main. Discuss.

Advisement much, I like the idea though! This must be what Whats His Face is doing for the new movie AVATAR, I wouldn't buy it but I'd like to try it before getting one in the future.

Not really worth the $500 minimum you have to spend for a pair of glasses while downgrading to a 22" monitor in my opinion. Although getting it for free or trying a demo would admittedly be awesome.

For once something worth $500 that is actually used

Also, Does any LCD monitor work or do you have to get a certain one?

Never mind. you need vista and a certain monitor

It was announced yesterday. -_-

Yes, like a 3D movie. It's only $500 if you don't already have a screen with atleast 100hz. Then it will only be $200. Not to mention it works with pretty much ANY game even online games. Imagine Halo with a full clip of needles coming out of your screen towards you or a rocket flying past your head.

It was announced yesterday. -_-
It was demoed at CES. You're going to the wrong places if they announced it yesterday.

The source was from X-Play, they reviewed it. And I meant released, not announced, sorry.

Yeah, you see, there's your problem. Some of us much prefer XP anyway.

Awesome, dunno if it's worth it though. Also this needs to be on Gmod.

No, it's been out for so long now.

Main problem is that you need a Monitor capable of displaying images at 120Hz and a GPU capable of rendering at 120 FPS. Most low end GPU's aren't going to be able to feed that need.

Special 3d glasses look uncomfortable and the 3d effect has been known to cause motion sickness.

If I had a stuff load of money and I already had a really beastly computer I'd consider it.
