Could someone explain to me the function of a 3D printer?
It's like a printer, but it is 3D. It will print things in 3D. Shapes, not pictures.
You know you can't sell anything made with Step 1 Games copyright right? If you intend to make any profit off these, you need permission from BS.
No I will not sell these. If I make any, I will send some to Badspot and keep some for my self.
Check out:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAt2xD1L8dw&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ka_5Ux43T7wThere are also machines that can form metal, stereolithography machines that form out of resin, and many other options. It is cool stuff.
RepRap is cool but does not currently have good enough quality to make a compelling toy. In ten years, it will be neat to see where matter printers are.
True, but a RepRap is only $300 in materials, and those machines cost thousands of dollars. We have 2 3D printers in school though, which is totally awesome.
I wish my school wouldn't be cheap and buy a 3D printer for students to use but we still have computers running 2000 :O.
