Robot VS Robot!
I couldn't use the Finger Poser that well, so I kept Quote's arm the way it is. Also, it took me 5+ minutes for me to make the machine guns in a good position.
Cave Story Quote model is from the workshop
Machine gun is from: a weapon pack

Better lighting would help, as well as a more fitting map than gm_construct

But i think he might be new(-ish?) to Gmod

I'm not new to GMOD, I just mess around and don't play around with the lighting and stuff, so I don't know much about stuff like that. Also, I just started to play the new Garry's Mod 13, so I don't have any new maps. Besides HL2 maps and TF2 maps.

it really sounds like you are because

2. ...
It doesn't look natural and it seems like you were going for a "cool pose"

3. It looks just fine.
you can't deny how odd it looks because i can't even tell what the heavy is doing and quote, which is the most vivid in the image, is just at the bottom and he's even hard to tell what he's doing. there's also a huge empty space to the left and it's not visually appealing. sorry to be rash but they way you presented it sounded like you totally invested into it and it doesn't look that good. like these gentlemen over here said,

think about these the next time you pose

1. Dunno how.
When using the Camera item in your inventory, you can hold the right mouse button and drag the mouse forward and back to zoom in or out, left and right rotate the camera, and R to reset it

I see what you were going for with Quote, but the robot Heavy's legs and arms look weirdly positioned and his head looks like it's not even posed

I'll try better next time. Thanks for the tip, by the way.

Do lighting by using colored lamps. A tinge of blue or orange can make a picture much nicer.

But that's such a typical thing to do just because one color compliments the other, everyone does it and it's just boring to me, i'd rather have dull lighting as long as it makes the character(s) fit into the environment they're put in

This guy most likely doesn't even know the usefulness of lighting origins which would make lighting up characters in a bright area much easier and less of an eye sore

Baby steps

And no overused light colors

I try my hand at posing after a few months out of practice.

i think the arm could've gone a bit further outward
