i think the arm could've gone a bit further outward
the ragdolls are too floppy so i got lazy.

Which ever friend replaced my gun with this duck is gonna get my foot right up their backside.

Soldier's actually mad because he tried to pull a rabbit out of his hat but got a dead duck instead

some friend made me play garry's mod today and my computer runs it ridiculously well.
anyways i've had this game for at least two years and never really learned how to use it, figured someone here might have tips about not only posing, but also maybe building, or recommendations for good add-ons to build with?

good add-ons to build with?
Bonermerge, easy body group tool.

Those two are pretty useful.

Bonermerge, easy body group tool.

Those two are pretty useful.
Except those aren't for building, they're for attaching TF2 items to TF2 characters and changing the skins and bodygroups of models that have them (which i guess can count for building if you want to change the skin of the HL2 barrels or crates)

review my pics i just posted

I like the positioning of the sunken boat in the frame, not crazy over the guy in the foreground, the picture could have looked better if the DOF focus was on the boat so that the guy in the foreground was blurred, also, if your computer can support it, go into Gmod's video options and set water reflections to 'Reflect all', this will make water reflections more realistic and not just reflect the skybox

The other two pictures in the post the above picture comes from feel a bit plain, like, there's not a lot to look at and i'm not saying you need to have effects in every single picture, but a bit of bloom and some color correction may have looked better

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374331132188/C7A18F0C7E44A226E2741084A2BA961324130383/1024x640.resizedimage - The guy looks like he's going in the ground (which is fine if that was intended), not crazy over the angle, the gun isn't very important, you could have gotten more of a side view on the guy with the gun poking out from behind him or something

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374331125004/DDE9864407E479ED2A885CEF752ABFECE112D812/1024x640.resizedimage - A bit too much blank space and the poses look a bit unnatural, like, their pelvises are bent in a way that makes their pose look weird

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374331114110/9B2B4732A7B00D5E0554099248BDCF26214F605D/1024x640.resizedimage - This picture looks alright for the most part, but the bald guy's hand isn't exactly on the bench, you should have made him bend over a bit more

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374331065215/6E03CFA3D86F3BFDEB9D05C76CE625B44649247E/1024x640.resizedimage - Though the background is blurred out to show that it's not as important, it's still quite empty and unmodified, since it takes up more of the picture than the guy in the foreground, it would have been a good idea to add some stuff there

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374331061428/6AFC831C993A5D4DB4B985069EB9687E16400A79/1024x640.resizedimage - Looks good, i see what you were doing with the placement, but it just doesn't sit right with me, maybe if the guy was on the left of the picture instead of the right, but wasn't going off screen enough that his shoulder would be cut off, but again, that's just me

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374331056850/2473374F1B33A43DBABD68BB6890280B876F7955/1024x640.resizedimage - Again, i see what you were going for with the positioning, but it just wasn't necessary, it would have been better if you got more of a side view to show both of the soldiers by the sand bags

Maybe some tutorials on using the Rule of Thirds, could come in handy, or could just some useful information to keep in mind or to pass on
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsRy5EVggyg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZN2bBxCXQU

Those are in SFM, but the same rules can apply to Gmod since they both have ways of positioning the camera to your liking

thanks mld for the feedback. the ragdolls are really "floppy" and it's hard to pose. i'm not used to the really flexible ragdolls, lol
feedback on these too please?

gotta love german soldiers
In other words, pretty good.

What add-on did you use for the german/US soldiers?

feedback on these too please?
First three i responded with

Second three

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374311893430/2437B276F3D2B2307A66D1FC3E7340CCD0EDCA08/1024x640.resizedimage - The guy laying down looks like he was just sloppily placed, sorry to say, but yeah, i think more of the back of his torso should be against the wall instead of just the back of his upper torso and fix the legs, mainly the guy's right foot and left leg and foot

The standing guy's left arm shouldn't be drooped down like that, his legs also look kinda sloppily posed, they look like someone who's trying to hold their bladder in

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/901002374311914154/AD80A21F1B62DD48E59A3C6D1DEBD587C2683C3C/1024x640.resizedimage - Same as i said before, the arm shouldn't be drooped and instead be raised, the close up doesn't do it any justice as it only show off more of the low quality wall texture behind him

Which you probably can't do anything about if you're already playing on maxed graphics, some textures are just low res

map?
pretty cool pic.

I made a skin, or well... I combined two skins... and did some stuff at the eye...
Yeah, I know, not the 100% lovey stuff you see all the time but... I made it and well... yeah... Don't ask why.
Ib4 you're gonna ask why
