Author Topic: What came before retail?  (Read 2587 times)

I hear all this talk of what BL was like before retail. If it wasn't retail, HOW THE HELL DID SO MANY PEOPLE GET IT? Was it free? Were you invited? I'm itching to know, so please inform me if you were here before retail. Thx.

It was the alpha of blockland. It was free and you used to get it from here, But now you don't. It's terrible compared to retail anyway.

Say could someone post that gun in the addons...

Ugh. I remember you had to pick up bricks to use them.

The only good things I remember about vanilla v0002 were Green Hills (or whatever it was called) and original Slopes. Those were some nice maps.

That would be the paint can...

Yes it was Green Hills, those maps were pretty cool, then RTB 1.0 came along and made everything better :D

I just miss how all of those lego bricks were able to be used.
Now I can't build a good version of a lego brick or anything.(specials, like the chairs)

That's not a gun, that was the spray can.
EDIT: Just read MasterLegoDudes post. I liked the way you could make elevators and doors with the editor wand. I wasn't a big fan of using it with builds though :/

that's from v0002,not retail, and that is a normal paint can.

Managed to dig out old RTB 1.045 to take a screenie in old kitchen.
God, brings back memories.

I remember I ran RtB 1.045 once after getting retail, and I had retail in a subfolder inside the folder I was running RtB from. When I closed it, RtB's little dso cleanup wiped out my copy of retail.
