No it wasn't. When it first came out was.  Nobody was severly handicapped, they just didn't know how to build, now there are many idiots that it's hard to even find one good server.  Back when retail first came out, there were tons of great servers.  V8 was not as bad as now, but when retail first came out totally owned it.
