The forget about GIMP?
You're all idiots..Well, not really, but GIMP is better than PS and PDN.
GIMP: Can do whatever PS can do. GIMP can save in over 60 different image types, and can make animated .gifs. GIMP can also do anything PDN can. Did I mention GIMP is free?
Photoshop: Expensive as hell, works fine, however, the price deducts from the usefulness. Can't save in all of the file types GIMP can.
PDN: Can't do much compared to PS and GIMP. It's free, but that's not that big of a deal considering the complexity of the program :\
-Can't make .gifs
-Can only save as a few file types
-Can handle transparency

PS=Photoshop

JD, Photoshop is meant to be used in a group with other adobe products to form one greater program via bridge. ( included free to connect programs easily.) These programs together can create websites, pictures, games, animations, and tons of other stuff. To say GIMP is better then photoshop is to say that it is good to only use the brush tool in MS paint. Which, with practice, can produce stuff of better quality then all non, default image editing software.

Oh, btw, Photoshop CAN do more. We can edit stuff in 3d. Even with the outdated versions.

GIMP is good 'nuff for most people's needs, and its free. Photoshop and Photoshop Elements may be better, but theyre so loving expensive.
