The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy says that the universe is big. really really big. you wouldn't imagine how immensely infinitely big it really really is. YOU JUST COULDN'T POSSIBLE BEGIN TO IMAGINE JUST HOW UNFATHOMABLY IMMENSELY MASSIVELY BIG IT JUST IS! And it goes on in that fashion for some two hundred pages. It would be quite egotistical to think we are alone.

Think about it, The universe is about 9999999 Billions light years height and width (Just bare with me, I know it isn't that much, or is it?) and you are saying that this lonesome planet is the only chuck of rock that supports life?
