Would anyone suggest trying to get stuff from Lego Education? They seem to have a lot of stuff that Lego doesn't have anymore. The Renewable Energy set seems interesting, although I read that it may not be practical for non-educational uses. Does anyone have any suggestions on trying to get started with Lego electronics/power functions?

The Renewable energy set in question. I was also looking towards Lego Education as a source of Lego bricks in bulk as an (expensive?) alternative to Bricklink and Ebay. Does anyone have suggestions on that?
