There's a certain inhibition against playing with legos that really should be overcome, at any age. It's just societal pressure.

Legos really aren't that "kidish."  The new sets do kind of promote smaller kids, but really it's pretty open to anyone to do anything they want with.

Heck, you could make Lego research if you really wanted to.
