I liked the first version better since it looked a bit tougher.

Though I guess this one has more flexibility.

this one's much more compact, the proportions on the old one were silly and made very little sense.

I think it just makes more sense altogether, actually.  the weapons, the backpack, etc.

Haven't failed to impress yet.
I haven't done jack with LEGOs for probably a year now so I totally forgot about those new joints, they look really good and compact. Do the female parts of the hinge only come in light grey right now?

Also, I'm 100% positive if you made a Flickr account and started posting these in the LEGO Flickr Pool you would get pretty popular among the LEGO community.

The 2 plates, which have the sockets on two different ends and no male parts only come in that light grey.  There is a double sided one, though, male and female, and that's dark grey.

Too much work.  If someone wants to set one up for me, be my guest, but I'm sick of uploading stuff to begin with.
