don't sort by color

dump everything and pick one type of brick to collect. it's faster than organizing each piece one by one, since you basically know what you're looking for

There's rubber teeth on the inside. Also, it unfortunately doesn't fit.

every time I try and do stuff with lego I end up getting stuck due to maybe not having the correct piece or something like that
or, I just can't think of building anything good and just loose motivation easily
maybe I'm just too used to blockland

Just experiment a bit. If you're lacking some bricks see if you can use a different brick, or buy some lego.
