How in God's name does that work
for example, if i roll a 1 on a 1 sided die for an attack skill roll, the roll is not high enough for the Use of the weapon, but is also a critical success, allowing me to do an extra roll of Theoretical Damage if an attack is ever successful. It is also a critical failure, however, thus resulting not only in missing, but stumbling and being "disrupted", ending the turn.
Here's an even better example.
Suppose you're jumping across a chasm and saving a person falling between the ledges that you're jumping across. Nearly impossible, right? Well not with a d1! Rolling a d1 and landing a 1 out of a possible 1, you have critically failed and critically succeeded. Therefore, you manage to jump across the chasm, save the person falling in front of you and hurl them to safety while ramming into the ledge with your head, giving yourself a concussion and falling to your death.
I like calling it the paradox die.
