Milkshape is good for beginners, once you have mastered that, blender is right up you're alley

I tried Blender before and got a shotgun model working, but the handle goofed up.

Thats probably normals. Select all the faces and hit ctrl n.

My laptop has never once lagged from these weapons. Key word. LAPTOP.

If a portable, unmodified, $500 system can handle it, your computer should be able to as well. If not, there's obviously something wrong with it.

Poly count lag has NOTHING to do with the lag, the blockland engine can only handle so much, thats what you have to worry about, not your crappy laptop
