Why did I watch this like 5 times? :D

Haha me too

Always.

What 3D modelling program is probably best for a career base?

I think all the professional people use Autodesk stuff. Costs like 3k per license.

I've heard that Autodesk is used alot in gaming, while Lightwave is a more general program, and ZBrush is used for characters and painting or what not.
I also suspect that the only reason that Autodesk is so expensive is because they've advertised it so much, it just seems like the only good product out there, which is certainly not true.
Link to any good articles comparing and contrasting these programs?
*edit*
I found this article somewhat informative.

"Some high-profile Second Life designers have been using Lightwave for quite a while to burn realistic highlights and shadows onto their skins and clothing textures. Therefore it's not a big surprise that after Blender, this was the second program that community members figured out a sculpt export method for."
How interesting, I'm currently working with lightwave also.

They have most of their programs for free if you're a student.  No need for a .edu email address either.

That's not entirely true, my friend's dad that I'm working with is doing some film production, and he's been in the business for over 20 years, he recommended lightwave to me.

I downloaded 3DS Max and Maya, I'll see how that does for my modeling.

I'm still looking for motivation.

Oh god the new Yndaaa

My modelling skills will improve tenfold!
