I believe I've seen screenshots of portals in hammer for the Tutorial map.  I also use it. :D

Portals are collisionless "walls" in Torque interiors that the player can't see through until they pass through them. There may be other features but that's all I've known them to do. In the Tutorial map when you have to walk turn your flashlight on to walk through a hall, that's use of portals to create a completely dark room.

OOOhh, maybe someone could use these portals to make a map that as you dig down in bricks or something, it gets darker around you :o
