you can't really enjoy yourself in a slow mech unless it has some serious firepower

The xv9 will indeed be more maneuverable on foot. The main downside is that it's forgethueg.

Update, holes in the arms are the "weapon sockets"; mechs will act as classes, you'll be able to choose weapons in a spawn room and then also modify the node colors on your mech
