That looks appropriate, really. You might want to scale it up maybe just a tad to make the stock touch the shoulder.

Yeah I recently got Milkshape, I'm pretty improving, well thanks to you Azerath I could export it.

But I can't texture it yet. Can someone help me out?

To texture stuff, you first have to make a separate image for each color you want on your gun (or at least I do). Open up your favorite image editing program, and make a 16x16 image. Fill the whole thing in with the color you want. Save it, and do the same again for the rest of the colors you want.
To put that on the model, go the the materials tab in MS3D, and make a new one. There will be two bars with buttons next to them. The bars are labeled (none). Click on the first one, and select a color. Select the group you want textured with that color and assign it to it. Just a tip, for every material I make, I edit the diffuse color, so I know which one I put where.

Now, if you are actually trying to put a legit texture on there, then it's a bit more difficult.

paint works? :o the normal one

What number of faces is good for a blockland gun?

Yeah, paint is fine. I don't know if anything else but a PNG will work. I think I have seen a BMP texture used before.

300-700. Anything lower than 550 is good.

i'll post pictures soon.

I did, but i think the colors forgeted it up
Well I did, SelectAll - Unweld - Unchecked Auto Smooth - Weld Together, Idk why it didn't work, wanna take a look at it?

so far so good, thanks you MLD i successfully got a model to work in model viewer, im currently re-downloading garrysmod to see if it works in-game, wish me luck

here is a gun that I created and based of of a tv series called farscape

also I was wondering how you package an iteam correctly. I've exported the object as an .dts and placed it in a file called Item_Far
and placed it in a zipped and unzipped folder and it still doen't show up when I try to add it in the addons selection. What am I doing wrong? Is there any known good tutorials on it?

I unweld, uncheck, weld together, then go to tools > Tile texture Mapper, and click ok, and it works fine for me. Make sure all your groups have a LOD of 100. You can make them have that by making each group name end with 100.
