No. You're wrong. A. I can use as many polys as I want. It's my mod.
If my graphics card can handle it, which it can, it doesnt make a goddamn difference. B. At least my rifle is "blocko" (yes, C. I am referring to those moronic conformists who cannot stand anything that doesnt fit blockland)
holy mother of god, one moment here as i further point out how handicapped you are in a way yndaaa's too cool to be mean about.
A. If you end up breaking the Torque engine, crashing servers (A high-poly model can do this, I have tested it), and casuing people to experience ridiculous slowdown, that is, as you should be able to logic out, NOT okay. One of GCat's guns is ridiculously high-poly and just anyone taking it out slows down many people's gameplay. (ARX, I believe it was?)
B. Jesus christ,
NO IT IS NOT. I think you should go take a look at every other decent weapon ever made. THey don't have ridiculous rails and stuff to slowdown everything. Even Yndaaa, whose modeling style is generally pretty realistic, was able to make the actual weapon models look really good in Rykuta's otherwisr crappy weapon pack way back in the day.
C. It is kind of a massive problem when something in your hand looks absolutely handicapped and different in your hand than everything else. For example here, besides the overly ridiculous amount of detail, that thing is gigantic. Even in your test animation that hand just looks hilarious drifting several feet outward to hold the thing. ONe of the main problems in my advanced melee pack is making things recognizeable, useful, and not handicapped looking. The katana's blade, for example, is contantly being resized relative to the Blockhead so that it can look decent in all of the different fighting styles' moves and animations.
