Believe it or not, we do know what a Katana looks like.
He means how it comes out of the hilt at a very sharp angle, it looks like the blade isn't actually part of the weapon

Not really. I think it looks ok to be a katana. Not even a Kopesh is curved enough to be a semi-Circle curve, but a Sickle definetly is.
