Technically it's tomorrow but not really what I meant. Anyways here's the AO done right. Both screens at minimum texture quality.

Looks infinitely better but you're trading one 512x512 texture for one 256x256 texture per color. No problem with 2-3 colors but if you have more it might increase the loading time with a dozen seconds at worst. Colorshifting works.

I'd like to test this properly so if anyone wants their upcoming Blockland model/released add-on done in this style let me know.

looks really weird frankly
and the textures themselves mean you're taking up more space than the average add-on that can just use 1x1 flat colors as textures, which i'm sure someone somewhere will care enough to complain about

Well, I am going to use this information for textures where simple colors will not fit.

i can't really think of a situation when that would be necessary for this game though

The whole reason that this was brought up.

Those hexagons should be textures.

no they shouldn't
textures on items almost always look like poop in blockland, modeled on details look far better and crisper
it's not like they're really that complicated enough to be an issue anyway

Damien just made like 5 posts explaining how to make the textures look good.

look good in general, sure
it does not look good in blockland

It's better to use less polygons when necessary, alternatively, even though it takes more polygons, the dots can be sunken into the wrapping and just model around the dots by making polygons that go from the edges to the dots

No game's textures look good when seen up close, it depends on the resolution of the texture, for example, you'll see a blurrier or more pixelated texture if the texture is 128x128 and not 512x512 or 1024x1024

Blockland's current textures are 512 (paint can label, player decals, and certain ground textures) and 1024 (brick and certain ground textures)

Yeah, I'm going to redo it like that.

Edit: Done

I left the tape as a plane above the actual model, because it is physically above the rest of the model.

Remade the Rocket Launcher and the Shotgun.

You know your models are blocko when people just want to wear them on their keychains! :333

Fixed the Bonesaw. (I took Tingalz's advice from like a year ago and fixed the teeth)
