It's actually a Czech rifle that isn't related to the AK47, though it shares one mechanical similarity which is the round it's chambered in. But thanks!

the shells are supposed to fly out of there to the side
and if you're using it right handed those hot shells will get into your shirt

The bolt and ejection mechanism ejects upwards, if you look at the full model. Plus, the Bolt is on the right side, which is typical on all right handed firearms

i'm probably going to redo the whole thing because it looks awful

it doesn't look awful
it looks like a gun that would've been in perfect dark zero

it only looks awful cause the barrel's so thin

make it fatter and adjust the body as needed. maybe even go with a rectangle barrel instead, for maximum futuristic, since the end of the body is rectangular as well. if you do that maybe replace the clip with a battery pack or something.
