Author Topic: The new and improved 3D model topic!  (Read 4642563 times)

@Cheze: I think that seems to be a feasible first car project to make. Actually, if you take a look at the Blender 3D:Noob to Pro e-book, you'll see that the example vehicle is a lot like yours. Making it an open top thing with no doors makes it easy to complete, so it looks like an ideal first car to make.
thanks. mine's based on a bronco, though. but I do agree, it does look a lot like mine.

edit: starting on wheel.

double edit: I replaced the cylinder with a torus with small tris for the rubber part of the wheel.

Wait, is that why the default vehicle in Blockland is a Jeep?
Because it is easier to model?

yes

I'm basing the car off this

Currently trying my bvest to remake the last hatchback, this one has a MUCH cleaner model when it comes to faces, vertices, and etc. It is even perfectly matched up to the grid as well, so making an interior will be much easier as well. Also I did the trick where you could make the black faces float above the wheel to lower on tris, and now the wheel's tris are down to 156

The hatchback is pretty cool.

edit: I'm starting the car's body. Does anyone know where I can get a scale reference?

Final post over hatchbacks for now, but I finally finished it. This is the 4th re-make of the car too

Here's what the interior looks like

Thank forget, this took ages to make. All I really have to do now is add in a few materials to give the headlights, plastic, tail lights, and etc stuff like that so it'll have some color, and it'll be 100% done

I like the progress on your car!
Simple, yet it has details, very neat.

Ayyy, thanks! It isn't easy to pull off, the model is like the 4th remake I had to do, lmao

Thanks, but for some reason, it won't work with Blender.

edit: It does, but I can't really group it all together.
