Author Topic: Color Picker Tool  (Read 1857 times)

When you activate a brick, your current paint color gets set to the paint color of that brick, and you do not need trust to choose the color of somebody else's brick.

This is useful in maps with lighting that makes things look different than they are (mostly a bunch of slate edits)

I might think about making this myself in about 6 months, but I'm wondering if anybody else is interested in it too. (and would like to make it)

Ill make a model if people would like so we don't just have another wand.

bump because of interest displayed in some servers by people who are too lazy to post

Use a light? This won't really be useful for me but whatever.

Kinda like the eyedroper in paint? And what if they have an event on that brick, would the tool cancel events? If so, then good idea! I'd help, but I'm working on quite a few projects at the moment, so I won't be able to right now.

yes exactly, thats what came to mind when i suggested this.

and lopster12345, stop following people evreywhere and making one word posts to get your post count up, i know you are new to the forums and you are really showing it. aka noob

It would be even better if someone made this client sided. (Is possible)

an item would be better, that way others can use it on a server too when they come to build.

An extra row in the Spray color picker with 2 boxes. The top box would have the color picker (Click on the brick with the color) and the bottom box would have the color that you picked. I'm not sure how you would do this, but maybe a favorites color box? You'd click on a color and it would save the details in a .txt file like the event saver. There would also be more boxes below the 2 original ones for favorites.

But then you couldn't use it on other servers, and as far as I know, there is no way to make the server tell the client to switch color.

You can only use colors loaded on that server, given from an ID between 0-63 that the server had registered via the colorset.txt.

Maybe make a gui that looks like the spraycan color picker that is above it. I'll add a pic in a sec.

its been a sec, and gui's are hard, idk how, and seeing as nobody else actually wants to do this, it looks like ill end up making it on my own.

need trust plus on activate events would get powned because soon your BIG RED BUTTON would be green and the sign saying dont push the red button would be wrong... again

what does this have to do with a color picker tool?
