Author Topic: I finally got a video card  (Read 4001 times)

but I read this site that said that AGP was PCI express, got an agp, and it wont work, also, it was used, so I cant take it back

AGP is older than PCI-E.
AGP is yesterday, PCI-E is today.

I'm so loving sad

EDIT: after looking at both of them, I can't find a difference

they are very different. if you "cant find a difference" (im assuming you have looked inside your computer)
then possibly you do not have PCI-E slots at all on that motherboard

I think I only have pci express

thats not as likely. boards with PCI-e will also have normal PCI slots.
While boards with AGP, will also have normal PCI slots.

but i have never seen a board have both AGP and PCI-e

PCI slots are medium length (usually white)
AGP are the small slots, (usually brown)
PCI-e are longest ones in some random color

Well, if you cry about having bought the wrong graphics card, guess what, I can only use AGP! wooh. My computer is from 2004, wooh! HOW LUCKY AM I? And are you sure you're doing it right? Usually on AGP there's a little switch you need to move to put it in.

Just rip off a friend and sell it to him for twice the price and tell him it'll help run his games faster.

Serves you right for being stupid enough to not know what works in your PC.

Black one looks like a PCI-E.

I don't see that black one that is shorter than an inch.

Blacks a PCI E.
