I use gladiuses for normal attack, daggers for final hit.

And if anyone needs help with anything - beginner quests, generation quests, etc, add Adam488
Beginner quests I'll help with all but Ogre warrior - I HATE Barri.
Generation quests, there are a few things I wont help with - Black orb and final dungeons

dual cutlasses.

i'll sell you mine, i'm downgrading (?) to gladii

Actually, Bushi, as I said earlier, cutlasses may have higher attack, but they also have MUCH lower balance, so the damage difference isn't that much, and they can't be upgraded or ego'd, and have less durability.

Average damage = (Max - Min) * Balance + Min

Gladius = (32 - 15) * .59 + 15 = 25.03
Cutlass = (38 - 22) * .34 + 22 = 27.44

So unless you have a lot of dex to bring up your balance, I'd go with gladiuses

I use gladiuses for normal attack, daggers for final hit.

Interesting. Why do you switch to daggers for the final hit? :S
Also, I wonder if it makes more sense for me to get dual broadswords rather than gladii. They are nearly the same.

Broadsword

Cost: 3750
Speed: Slow [2]
Damage:13 ~30
Crit: 12%
Balance: 55%
Durability: 12/12

Gladius

Cost: 10250
Speed: Slow [2]
Damage:15 ~32
Crit: 12%
Balance: 59%
Durability: 13/13

So +2 min attack, +2 max attack, +4 balance, +1 durability
Is it worth paying three times the price for that?
Edit: It would also be about 3x as much to repair and upgrade, wouldn't it?

I wish I had lots of money and was out of the begginer area on my new acount, this is so much different from when I first sighned up. I remember they still had an add up for the beta testers to get this one hat.

The upgrades are slightly different, for example, a gladius has a +20 max +20 min, while a broadsword has a +25 max, but the annealing upgrades are a bit better on a broadsword.

Interesting. Why do you switch to daggers for the final hit? :S
I meant the skill, Final Hit. http://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/index.php?title=Final_Hit
While daggers do less damage, they hit a LOT faster, so I am able to get in a lot more damage.
Plus my enchanted and upgraded daggers, I can actually do about the same, if not a bit more damage per hit, then my unupgraded gladius. I've upgraded both of their damage to 6-27 instead of the default 2-9, and I have a goddess enchant on one, and if everything goes right, I should have an obsidian enchant on the other on Tuesday.

Oh, I see.

In other news, I'm seriously considering wooden blades. They have pretty good cheap upgrades that raise crit a fair bit and don't cost much at all to repair. If not that, then perhaps broadswords... or gladii...

I dunno.
