rtb does server creator, other than that, none of this is needed.
Actually, blockland now shows the owner by default.
Like so:
Host name's server name.
Example, if my server name was "head is spinning."
My server name would show up as "Chrono's head is spinning."

As for the escape menu while loading, learn the shortcuts.
f2 is playerlist.
ctrl+o is options.
esc is disconnect.
ctrl+a is admin menu.
alt+f4 is quit.
I'm sure there would be a cloning glitch if you tried to make a minigame before spawning.
You wont be needing to load while loading and such, that would be painful for your computer.
You can't even save if you can't see the bricks at all, there wont be any bricks if you're the host either.
So thus, I just labeled everything in the escape menu, there is no need for it in the loading process.
As for the other ideas, just sort by server name and find your favorite server that way.
The spawning before you've downloaded everything idea would be unnecissary and most likely hard to do.
Pausing in single player is completely unneeded, and there is no way to completely freeze the game without crashing it.
And for current servers you been to... why?
