Author Topic: I seemed to have caught a cat.  (Read 14657 times)

I believe I feel the same way about animals as Lalam.
I do feel the same way a Lalam. I am TOTALY against animal cruelty, but we use our chickens for food and money. We have a small business selling eggs to friends, and we eat some eggs they make.

Besides, I eat WILD ANIMAL meat all the time, wether it's moose, deer, grouse, elk, etc.

I believe I feel the same way about animals as Lalam, and I can assure you I'm not a vegetarian.
Not quite the same he probably beats more meat than all of us :C

True.

It's done a lot of the time in wilderness preserves or shelters for wild animals that were bought by snobby people and couldn't take care of them anymore. For example. I'm not a good hunter. I wouldn't be able to kill anything to save my life. However, I'm sure if someone showed me where there was a bountiful food source and gave me a means of obtaining what I needed, I'd learn really quick. It's the same with an animal. Just because human mental capacity is much higher than a cat, doesn't mean that we all can't learn simple and mundane things every day like a wild animal would. I was referring more to what we do in everyday life, as opposed to hunting. My bad.

That's why I feel the whole defense of the cat being invalid because if the humans wern't there to begin with farming chickens, the cat wouldn't even need to be in the area to become the victim of a trap. It knew what it was doing because it wasn't the first time it had been there. So it learned that food was available there. Cat got what it deserved even if some people don't find it all that nice. Survival of the fittest (unless I'm reading wrong.).

You should complain to the people who trap them live only to douse them with gasoline and burn em alive. Those people are sick bastards. I do, but I complain to myself about it.

I'm not against eating meat, but hell, I don't like to see animals get killed.  I still don't see as to why you wanted to show us the cat your father had killed.

On a side note:  Why haven't you locked this topic yet?

Lalam, if your mother was gonna die if you didn't kill who ever was gonna kill her, would you kill the person?

I'm not Lalam, but I'd lock the person up. Or hide my mom.

Locking the potential killer is not an option, Its either kill the person or have your mother die.

Most normal people would choose kill the person because of the relationship to the mother. Same thing goes for the situation of this threads OP. His father killed the cat before it could kill farm animals.

Don't compare my mother to chickens!

Ah good, you do understand. lol Granted, I feel sorry that a furry lil beast was killed, but it's not like it'd let me befriend it while it was alive. Prolly a vicious lil stinker.

I don't quite care that he cought the lynx, but to be porud of it? Thats horrible.

Alos, sport hunting is just plain stupid. You track some poor thing for several hours, shoot it, then carry it home. And then you can say "Hay look I found this thing and I killed it!" and people are achally impressed. Killing a living thing for fun. Shame on you.

Whoops sorry I didn't realize that sport hunting was not a heavily regulated industry that involves years and years of cumulative research and study about animal populations in certain areas in order to determine how many tags to issue in order to get the desired results.  All of this done because the environment had already been significantly disturbed and it's generally better that we have private citizens go out and hunt than use government employees (PETA/etc would have a field day over tax dollars going to pay those people I bet).  It also generally ensures that the meat ends up not going to waste as well.

My bad.

PS:  This thread is hilarious.

You're an idiot for comparing someone's mother to a chicken.

But remember, Lalam sees no difference between an animal dieing and a person dieing.
